the way i do it stuff like that for movie posters is to do the body with the pen tool, channel mask the hair as best i can, then paint new hair on top of that
if you paint in hair yourself you can almost always make it look a hundred percent better than the original 'cause you can define groups of it a lot better
- i've seen it done by someone here at the office and it does look really good to paint the hair in.capn_ron
