  I hope some artists have the balls to stand up to this. Obviously, or not so obvious to the RIAA, is that if someone gets sued for downloading Prince (can't think of anyone else...), then there will be a backlash against buying his stuff. That WILL hurt the artist.

  Here's the stats (or clsoe to them, curtesy of WIRED):

  New releases: DOWN 16% in the last few years
  CD Prices: UP 16% in the last 5 years
  CD Sales: DOWN 16% in the last few years

  Those are the real facts that people should be bringing up more. Crap music equals crap sales. Simple economics.

  I'd like to see a list of who supports the RIAA (artists), like Metallic did. I really lost all respect for them and will never, ever consider buying anymore of their stuff.
