I always heard that LaCie uses the cheapest of the cheap HD's. I've had nothing but problems with the past 2 I've had. I don't view them as very reliable back up drives. I use them for movies / television.
As far as drobo is concerned, looks great. Sign me up, or someone buy me one.
- i've had more than one friend lose everything off of LaCies. Maxtor /Seagate I hear are sturdyBrokenHD
