^ yup talking about it helps, if the person is open to discussion that is, but if she's still a bit immature it will embarrass her and she will get pissed off because she won't know how else to react and she will throw a fit and remind you of all the little shit you've done wrong in the past 10 years and end the sentence with "your not my dad!".
