Forgot to mention, our class didn't require any previous coding experience. They learned as we went along. Our crits dealt with coding/construction techniques, yes, but even the source code was viewed through the lens of graphic design. (Better typeset code allows everyone to learn from what you've produced and makes it easier to catch bugs!) Bottom-line, it was a design class.
