  I'm on a roll apparently..
  It wasn't until recently that I found a nice feature of system screen grab app:
  normally, CMD+SHIFT+4 lets you crop the image for grabbing (CMD+SHIFT+3 grabs all). But if you press space instead of cropping, you get to choose a full window to grab - even if it's covered with overlaying windows...
