all I can say is take brand motherboard so that you have no compatibility problems, drivers, and firmwares...
with wireless, firewire, usb2... so if you need to plug something external as a camera or a harddriveabout the type, I haven't seen the prices recently but I don't think that intel is still so expensive compared to AMD, so I'd go for a P4....
nvidia graphic card all up from Geforce 3 BUT NO MX... with at least 64mb
or I've heard good things about radeon???
a lot of RAM, big hard drive, even get two, so that you can work on the other one where the system is, a DVD+-R/DVD+-RW, or CDR writer, and a DVD-ROM drive (so that you don't une the writer to read CDs or DVDs)
a good case, with a powerfull and silent power supply, and easy of access. (a diskett drive, zip drive 750mb)
as said a good screen, you have to work in front of it all day long...
with a good resolution and thin spaces between the pixels... (I can't rember the name)an optical wheel mouse... (logitech)
a head phone to listen while working without disturbing the others.
hope I had so much cash... enjoi and hope it helps or gave ideas.
