Regarding your last paragraph, and "How can they deny that the temperature of the Earth simply fluctuates?"
People don't think about this when they think of global warming. They just think it means the world is warming up and humans must give up all conveniences to accommodate the planet. It's as ignorant as saying that just because it's cold out, it must mean that there is no such thing as global warming. But that's how the information is given out too, and that's how people pass it on to others.
It reminds me of feminism, and how people have lost the fundamental meaning and theories behind it, primarily because of people who are in denial or are ignorant, and radicals.
