Updating my online folio is just ridiculously difficult. the beauty piece for the paper co. is still on hold so I am still under NDA obligation. the two books I designed and now have in hand are not allowed to be shown digitally – not even as a freaking .pdf. The client is super top secret about it. And the branding project I did for clear was taken from me and while they used the font I drew for it they added another little thing to it – just enough to make it no longer my logo.
So it's months and months of me pushing myself creatively and taking on larger projects that I have to kind of hold for a personal interview to show. It's depressing me. I don't think I can really make any updates until the designs I'm working on currently get produced.
I keep thinking about making a new URL just to show updates but don't want to upset anyone if they found out.
wah.

- there are potential clients in here?_salisae_
- ahhh .. brilliant!_salisae_
- that sucks--how did you get these great projects?********
- how do you phrase the password need without them thinking you're a strange bird?_salisae_
- just put them in a subdirectory and send people links to that********
- i mailed studios and asked if they needed a freelancer for anything._salisae_
- no one will know it's there unless you tell them********
- that was an idea given to me yesterday but i am still worried that somehow someway it will get back to the wrong person._salisae_
- can you imagine being so flush with great work that you farm out great projects like that?********
- what would they do to you?********
- if its a html site the subdirectory isn´t a safe solution. (google knows everything) I do it with a pw that I send to the clients. and its just active for a weekmoamoa
- and after a week it expires...moamoa
- you send a pw to strangers with a work request?_salisae_
- they would potentially not give me anymore work and think poorly about my work ethics._salisae_
- naaa. after I am in contact with them. and then I show them all the boring big company stuff.... which I am normally not allowed to showmoamoa
- to showmoamoa
- it's an expensive option but i could make a mailer for some agencies._salisae_
- as long as its not viewable for the public... everything should be finemoamoa
- how come they won't let you show it?********
- i see. and you just explain that it's private and ask for them to be discrete?_salisae_
- different reasons .. for the beauty book they don't want the idea robbed._salisae_
- the two books (100pgs each) were designed for a very rich family .. i don't even know which family! they're extremely sensitive about their personal stuff._salisae_
- sensitive about their personal information_salisae_
- no I don´t ask them to be discret, when I ask them I am sure they won´t be discret... ;)moamoa
- its mroe like: ehmm btw here you can see more of my projects ..moamoa
- and clear .. i can show that but i'm not super proud of it though it is a large co. i'd rather show the other ideas i had for different name options_salisae_
- different name options they were trying._salisae_
- I don´t want to show every project to the general public.. blabla and so on ;)moamoa
- oh okay .. so just mysterious like. i guess people understand that._salisae_
- gotcha_salisae_
- that really helps .. thanks moamoa!_salisae_
- once the paper piece is "out" can you show it?********
- np ;) I had the same problem. especially with the big co work I am also not proud of ;)moamoa
- it's nice to know there is at least something good about working for small crappy clients********
- yes, i assume they would. but i need all the glory right now!_salisae_
- thanks again, moamoa. i don't feel as entirely worthless and ashamed anymore._salisae_
- yeah when you work for the bigger palyers you are allowed to call them clients but not to show the work..mostlymoamoa
- especially when they wanna buy the exclusive rights....moamoa
- I'm in the same boat... lot's NDAs in my world. Certainly has it downsides. But usually the work is worth it. Usually.NotByHand
- I worked for microsoft... nothing can be worse. now you must feel much much better.moamoa
- :) :) :) ahhhh. i think i'll have a nice tub now._salisae_
- HAHAHAHA... enjoy it.NotByHand
