iPod sound quality

  I have those sennheiser headphones too, they're great.
  I'm a musician and do lots of recording so I care about sound quality,
  BUT when you're listening to your ipod on the tube, in the street wherever, there's so much background noise that I don't care about the general EQ day to day. I still get the same enjoyment out of my music, it's only ever relative. You won't notice the difference until you hear is relative to another setting, same goes to some extent to headphones. Why would anyone ever spend hundreds of pounds on headphones??

  And I still maintain that no one can hear the difference between a CD and a decent quality mp3 in a double blind test. And if you can, you need to get on with your life
