I'd leave the guy black and white...I think it helps balance it against all the white text. Also, I'd try getting rid of the "claw" or word bubble simply because I think you are achieving the same effect with your placement and italic type.
Looks really good though! I like it. Looks friendly and professional. If I needed something done on my house I'd definitely give 'em a call upon seeing the ad.
