    They try to do too much anyway, instead of trying to make an end to end solution for every single part of a business and then having to spend extra dealing with all the security holes in a everything from a web sever to an instant message client must cost millions. Then theres all that failed social networking live spaces crap, a google maps clone no one uses, etc

    Apple do it the right way, make the OS and focus on making that solid then get open source projects to fill in the gaps, Apache for the web server, PHP/Python/Ruby all out of the box for scripting.
    While MS are running around writing/fixing IIS(think thats its name) web server, VBA/ASP/ASP.net and whatever security holes come with those.

    MS even waste time making their own version control crap (think they've just released yet another attempt at it recently) while apple just bundle svn and I bet git will be bundled with snow leopard.

    Get rid I say, if they're strong enough people they'll land on their feet... if they don't then they're getting what they deserve
