Well, I quoted for designing the two sites which would then be passed on to a developer to build. They said they couldn’t afford to pay for pitches, so I’m guessing in a round about way, they weren’t going to pay me at all. Funny thing is I had quoted to do a identity design separately, and they pulled that too. And then I here they have had a couple of other designers – big studios too – free-pitch for that job and they’ve already rejected their work.
Odd thing is, my wife works there.
- Oh, that is a little awkward with your wife working there. Hope it doesn't become a big deal.NotByHand
- To be honest, I had a bad feeling about it from the start.MrOneHundred
- I’m not taking it personally. If they want a cheap website, it would never have worked with me anyway.MrOneHundred
- Yeah, sounds like it could be one of those that may be a better thing you didn't do after all.NotByHand
- We just had a client that was looking for a big elaborate pitch for a rebranding proposal (for free of course)...NotByHand
- ... and we didn't find them remotely worth it. So I know the type of situation.
NotByHand - Pity, I’m kind of desperate for the work. Not that desperate though!MrOneHundred
- Sorry. There'll be other stuff though (I know you you that).NotByHand
