It's scary stuff...
And almost 35, and I don't remember any point in my life where the situation there wasn't making devastating news.
I lived in Israel for 6 months when I was 14, and remember military people in the streets around the clock carrying machine guns.
Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to ever envision a peaceful solution.
I was in Norther Ireland last year. I talked to the leaders of an organization who develops initiatives and events that includes children from 'both sides'. They told me about the continuing difficulties of things there, and how elementary kids still hates 'the other side' without actually knowing why. They just do, because that's what their parent have taught them.
I wonder if the situation is somewhat similar in this way in Gaza, but with even more combustible cultures involved.- the part about the kids strangely reminds me of 1984omgitsacamera
