We had a family in the apartment above us a while ago and the noise was terrible, like someone stomping and dragging themselves across wooden floors. We got very close to going upstairs to complain but managed to refrain. Anyway, thank god we didn't, turned out they had a disabled kid and that was the main reason for the noise.
