so my file has 3 layers.. beginning from bottom to top i have a layer with the bg art that will be printed via 4cp, the second layer has a designated area in spot color for the area we want to foil stamp over.. and the layer is labeled, etc.. the final layer is the 5th color which needs to be a specific pantone so will be printing via pms..
is this a proper setup for the printers.. and through illustrator.. what would be my best approach on exporting .. i'm still a bit unclear on how to export a layer that is meant to show just where the stamp foil should be
- move the foil layer to top. spot ink won't print over foil. and if you're creating this in AI i'd talk to the printer
horton - they may prefer just a native AI so the layers are obvious. that or an AI-PDF.horton
- i think i may have phrased it incorrectly. my Foil Stamp layer sits on top of the layer that is desired to have the effect. there will be nothing being printed over the foil as i've already knocked out any specified areas in the artworksurface
