  I put it on it’s own layer, on top of the artwork and set its give it it’s own spot colour separation, set the Fill and Stroke to Overprint. Think of the artwork layers as being laid down in the same order as the print – CMYK normally goes down first, followed by spot colours, and then embellishments last.
