d_ummachine - you obviously live in some concrete jungle where the only purpose of automobiles is to transport one to and from starbucks to office complex.

suvs have a purpose, like hauling my dogs and gear to open spaces where there are trees and grass to enjoy.
My grand cherokee gets better gas mileage than any lincoln, mustang, ltd, caprice, impala...
suvs are not the source of all evil
