to clarify
the previous flashy site that Kioken did was hard to buy stuff on because you COULDNT
it was a promo and brand building site.
Now, I don't know who did this, or what their other branding stuff looks like - but if this site is actually following any brand standards - someone needs to get fucking fired.
the photos are fine
but the site offers nothing of the experience that a Barney's store does.
elegance, style, quality and, well - expense.
It's red and you can click things.
and it has a really annoying invisible tracking frame or something that makes everything flicker on my browser.there's no flashiness, no style, no sense of awe - things that you would think barney's would want to portray in their site.
There's no information - no shots of the barney's stores where they will really do their business - no explanation of the custom tailoring process or a general price range - NO call to action to get into a store where people are really going to make them money.
But you can buy ties.
Ties uncerimoniously lined up on white backgrounds.
