I thought the 18-55 was an EF-S lens? How does this work on a 5D?
If you want to shoot good portraits get the 50 or 85mm. 50mm for wider portraits with more background, or the 85mm for tighter 'headshots'. I think the 85mm is more expensive though. What about the 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8, not L lenses but still very very good. Or do you want L glass only?
But if you want to shoot good landscapes or interiors get the 17-40.
