In 4th grade was the first time as students we were taught to move from room to room for a new class between each bell... but first thing every morning - everyone had a "home room" to attend.
Home Room lasted about 15 minutes. This is were your paid for your lunch for later in the day. Normal lunch (with milk!) cost $0.90... leaving a dime for most kids as most only had a dollar.
Now - I never understood why the majority of kids did this... but they always put the dime in their desk and NOT in their pockets... and I of course took advantage of this... which leads me back to my original point of moving between classes - It was THIS TIME when certain classrooms were completely empty and I would go dime-hunting...
... I used to jingle as I walked through the halls.
But there was one time I went too far and stole a TON of change that was hidden in a little box (I snooped heavily in 4th grade) out of this one desk...
...with the new cash in hand I took off to the Nurses and attempted to fake sick so i could go home and hit the little country store and spend my new found coin on some sugary schwag...
... prob is - the nurse wasn't buying it... so I HID THE CASH in the nurse's office in her 'shoe cubby'... all the way in the back behind a full cubby... and went back to the class I was supposed to be at...
... only to walk into a CLASS MEETING OF THE ENTIRE 4TH GRADE... a very solemn / sad / blank-scared-shitless-look-on-ev... meeting at that...
I asked the closest student what was up... apparently someone had stolen some money out of a desk... and a lot of it...

... fortunately for me - I was at the Nurse's office at the alleged time of the incident.- did you let the nurse have a slice of the action?longtongued_liar
