Tungsten, be paranoid about data storage. Seriously, what's the dollar-value of a RAID setup versus the dollar-value of lost work if a drive taps out? A 1tera setup is about 500 bucks or so from macdoc.com in Mississauga and well worth it. We use the RAIDs as our network storage and then copy to an off-site external every few weeks (usually monthly or on project completion). Computer backup is just via time-machine to a capsule and/or external FW drives depending on the machine.
Drives fail. That's just what they do — especially if they're working all the time. It's really cheap insurance if you think about it.
