You may want to hold off on the Heidelberg and do what BonSeff says.
Also - while you're at the printer, ask if they have any samples with tips and instructions on how to design for print. I have a few good ones for using varnishes and some for printing on uncoated stock, etc.
Printers are usually very helpful. When I first started, I tried to act like I knew everything... but even the sales reps could see I needed some guidance. So they started bringing over samples and guides.
