I cant think of anyone doing it off the top of my head but I was thinking some relevant typography, maybe some silhouettes/outlines of unique things from aound the restaurant/building such as light fittings or stairs or the building itself who knows. All done in a single colour overlay and not taking up a large part of the photo.
I like the idea of solid colour over a photo as well as the hand made feel of screen prints. The photos could have a poster feel.
