You have all the compatibility that you need with iworks. There are some minor things that are a bit frustrating, drop shadows not showing up etc.. These are pretty minor.
You do however have to export as a MS file type every time you want to send a document to someone, you start getting multiple versions of files and it tends to get confusing.
I really like using Keynotes rather than power point. It seems that you get get much better looking presentations in a whole lot less time. It is also pretty good for story boarding I find.
Number has a few little things that make it better than Excel like the option to drag and drop expressions, I find it really quick. I also like the fact you can size your table easily to it to fit a print area.
I think it is worth the money but keep MS close just in case.
