Well I do a podcast called theicepodcast, so I know a few ways of how to break the ice:
throw an ice cube on the floor and exclaim "Look! I broke the ice...literally." Then you could muse how people have started misusing the word literally and give examples, such as; "I've had literally the worst day ever", or in similar ways like, "I was blown away by that film", which literally didn't happen.
Maybe that would work out.
