I always scrape garlic and ginger, and wash my hands. Of course, I don't wash my hands repeatedly until the smell is gone, which means there is some residue left over (I don't mind the smell too, if there is something left over). Anyway, I always end up rubbing my eyes. Twice now I have attempted to put contacts in and have had to throw them out (or I would have to clean the contacts over and over again, and there is no guarantee they are fully clean). The garlic and/or ginger is basically trapped under my contact and is making contact with my eyeball, so you can imagine what that feels like. I usually end up running around my room, trying to take them out of my eyes (since the burning sensation doesn't start until a few seconds after they are in my eye). I find that my eyes are getting more sensitive as years pass, which can only be a bad thing. Maybe it's because I started wearing contacts.
Hey! It's another tale about another Body Part I'd Like To Stab, Cut Out, And Remove.
