I think theres two ways to approach designing a tourist brochure. First is to make it small, easy to use and carry in a pocket and inconspicuous for the tourist to hold. The other is to make it large, ostentatious and showy thus making them an easy target for muggers.
Ask yourself, how many tourists would you like to put in harms way and design accordingly.
