harlequino put it perfectly. Megadeth was my favorite bad in high school. My first two concerts were Judas Priest with Megadeth and then Megadeth with Stone Temple Pilots.
When Countdown to Extinction came out i was so underwhelmed, but didn't want to admit it. There are great songs on there like "Skin of My Teeth", the title track, "This Was My Life", and "Ashes in Your Mouth", so i kept the faith.
But then came Youthanasia, and i was done. i wanted to blame Friedman's progressive influence for their watering down, but in retrospect, i think it was all Dave.
