The point of pre-recording stuff (I know Brand's podcast normally isn't, but in this case it was) is that the people involved can ad-lib, go wild, over step the mark whilst in the 'heat of the moment' or whatever you want to call it, and if the editing team decide something they say/do unacceptable and remove it from the final broadcast.
I would find the editors/reviewers more guilty than Brand and Ross. Everyone knows they are loudmouths and can say the wrong thing sometimes... why the hell haven't the editors been raked over hot coals? In my opinion it is their fault it was broadcast...
