There is a lot to be said for experimenting...
I kept one for an entire year in 2001 with calendar type navigation and I stayed very diligent about updating it. I learned more and grew as a designer then than my entire career... Getting ready to do it again.
Its a great experience. It can be a pain at times, but its so rewarding...
