I proposed after 12 days into our trip to europe. I was really scared that I would either a) lose the ring, b) the ring would get stolen or c) that customs would pull it out and ruin my whole damn surprise!
luckily, none of those happened!
I was going to propose in Amsterdam, but I just wasn't feeling it (it rained almost every day we spent there...which was only 3 but..). It wasn't until cinque terre, Italy, that I finally found the spot. We had hiked past it the previous day (it was on the trail that connects the five towns to one another). I saw this flat part in the trees above the trail that would make an excellent picnic spot. So I began planning a picnic, bagged everything up and convinced my girl to take the long hike again, the very next day. She was a little weary, but she eventually gave in.
It was a beautiful spot. I took a photo of it right before I propsed (i'm tricky like that :) )
- Timing wise that was good. If I was on a trip, I'd wait until the last nite, or something like that too.********
- Because of my crippling fear of rejection, haha.********

- not a bad idea, make her walk until she is too exhausted to say no and have an awkward walk back.ornj
