    I'd rather it be mandatory, like many other countries. Voting is an essential part of democracy.
    I personally don't care what day of the week it is, but I do hear what you're saying BH.
    Canada does have proportional representation, something which could really change the political landscape here. It's been suggested a bunch of times but I guess it's quite difficult to initiate that type of change within a system...
