Look, boxers are well conditioned for WHAT they do - toe to toe punching for a whole bunch of rounds. And they're training has them do lots of cardio/roadwork - great. They are optimized for it. The conditioning of MMA guys is totally different - you need a different set of cardio/conditioning resources to punch/kick & grapple. Any athlete conditioned for one type of performance will gas out doing a different set of physical techniques. Sure in boxing they can go six seven rounds and still look fresh, but stick the same boxer in a ring and tell him to wrestle/grapple, he'll be gassed in three or four minutes - totally different physical optimization . So to simply say "boxers are supreme fighting machine" is false. Boxers are the supreme fighting machine in a round based competition allowing hand blows. Add in different criteria and that "supremecy" drops fast.

    • MMA guys aren't "tested" by other fighters, like boxers are. Tested by "supreme" competition. Produces weaker athletes...Khurram
