As a freelancer who spent many years as permanant staff, I believe that only inhouse designers are really allowed to get angsty. Us freelancers get paid to deal with whatever is flung our way. If we don't like it, we don't have to go back.
There are loads of bad freelancers out there. Don't be one of them... The economy is about to go bust, don't burn your bridges :)
