    I would never quote for doing 'a logo'. What's the point of that? It's just a picture. You'll give them a file they can't open, so they'll ask for a jpeg which they'll put in Word and stretch all over the place, any good work you've done will be wasted.

    I'd quote for an identity, which would cover all aspects of how the company displays itself. Included within that would be any printed graphics they needed, posssibly a quote for a website or other applications. When you do it that way they shouldn't have a problem paying properly for it.
    If you just deliver 'a logo' then I can see why some clients don't want to pay lots for it. You need to sell it as a valuable process to revitalize their company not just selling a little graphic.
