Migy, I have noticed a distinct lack of calls and emails coming in. I can't yet say I have no work becuase I have lots of repeat business coming in... series of book covers I've been doing for a number of years etc. But for sure there is nothing NEW coming my way at all.
One of my publishing clients in NY said that a lot of the illustrators he knows are screaming out for work now because they haven't had anything for weeks and weeks.
Personally I think there's nothing to do but take the opportunity to do some promotional items and get the word out. Don;t fall down the hole of self doubt wondering if its becuase youa re just a bit shit (as per your post above) because it just aint the case mate. Lets face it, in times of uncertainty probably the first thing you decided to do without is some illustration, however good it might be.
