check dell's refurbished gear (do the same thing for apple too!!)...
... I got my 24" dell for about $300 less than retail w/the same warranties etc... and I did have to replace it once - but had zero issues.
btw - Dell will ship you a new monitor and let you get it all set up before packing up your old one... not many companies have that kind of 'trust'.
- i had similar experience. one even got lost in shipping and they sent off another right away.skelly_b
