  Redant, I'd advise against editing the PDF — it can turn pear shaped real quick. You can get yourself into a real version-control nightmare if you do a couple quickie edits to the PDF but then go back to the AI file later on and forget that you made PDF edits, etc, etc.
  Text changes to a PDF are a last-minute, emergency measure only.
