Yeh, got to be Cafe Du Monde from about 3am onwards, it never closes..
For breakfast it absolutely HAS TO BE the Coffee Pot, where you'll be welcomed in typical Nola style, by some of loveliest ladies (think favorite aunt) who will cook you great omlettes and eggs benedict.
Spend time just wandering round and round the french quarter doing nothing and realising that it's different every time of day and night.
Avoid Bourbon street at night, it's fully of guidos and wannabes.
Nola has a really unique atmosphere that you really appreciate more and more as you are there.
What you want to do will become apparant as the city takes you under it's spell, and you'll crave going back as soon as leave.
