First off, I really like the color scheme you chose. Maybe it's just personal taste but I love dark background with pink-blue-purple color scheme.
But your layout seems a little haphazard. The negative space around it seems kind of undefined and amorphous with everything centered in the middle. The spacing seems weird as well.
Also the type needs work. The nav type doesn't seem to fit with the logo, and the block of copy below that seems awkward because you needlessly hypenated one of the words and the last word is stuck out there on it's own.
For the portfolio, do you have just one item, or will there be more? If so, is it all one page or do I click through to another page?
Overall, I think it's a good start in terms of overall look and feel, but you need to go back to the drawing board for the layout and grid.
