I think someone mentioned it...
I've never been in a job longer than 2 years. I get to that point ask myself if im satisfied with what im doing. I never am. I always resign without a job to go to, and so far so good. Be ballsy and remember the only thing you have is your portfolio, nothing more. If thats not up to scratch or if it's not being added to regularly and you aren't winning awards or at least being recognised some other way...move.
A maxim I've always lived by is that I don't work for anyone, but people and companies pay for my services and skills that I invested in, and that as long as the relationship is mutually beneficial, onwards.
Oh and as a CD, I'm constantly suprised how few people ask for more money.
