the white ones were reported to develop some small cracks around the edges, the black ones, pretty sure I saw no mention of that.
If you're looking for a case, which you should be because it's actually a little difficult to hold onto this thing, I highly suggest this one by incase:

It has a really nice grip, though it's a little hard to get out of your pocket if you have tight jeans on.
- dont buy it. you'll get particles stuck in it and they'll rub against the shiny chrome part (which is easily scratchable).********
- i had it, but took it off. so it's naked now... no new scratches.********
- i like the naked....the only thing that's a little scratched on mine is the silver appletymeframe
