I cannot wait for the debates. Obama is going to run circles around McCain.

I have been very disappointed at mainstream media throughout this process so far because of their fear or refusal to call out McCain on the lies and slander that he is spreading and reinforcing about Obama. This from a candidate who promised a clean campaign. This from a candidate who talks about honor like he's the one who invented it. He is despicable, nasty, and so completely disrespectful.

This election and campaign cycle is complete proof that we can no longer have rational and objective election coverage ever again. The Sean Hannitys of the world are ruining objectivity and purpose in the world of political reporting and journalism. They're not there to report, they are there to make the story they want to see, to blow up the most minute sound-bite as if Obama has just gunned down a bus of school kids. And guess who they don't do this to: McCain.

That's just cable news. Regular, local news coverage is it's own thing altogether. They hardly have time in a broadcast to really get to any issues or points beyond the buzz of what someone said that day that is being taken negatively.

The press needs to take off the kid gloves they use with McCain. If you're running for president no matter what your age, you open yourself to being called out on lies and deception. I guess McCain is too fragile, or the press knows too well about his temper. But it's just frustrating to see the media not call him out on this, because they will sure call out Obama on a wide range of things day after day.
