I realize that Obama doesn't have much experience, however, I give him the benefit of the doubt to be the better candidate because presidents of all experience levels depend on the cabinet and advisers they surround themselves with to make decisions.
My glowing hope that Obama becomes President is built off of this, and the appreciation that he thinks before he speaks, and I've never in my lifetime seen a candidate who really, truly wants this job to make things better and turn this country around, and not for personal gain. Might that be wishful thinking? Who knows, but it is inspiring, it is motivating, it is exciting as a 30 year old knowing how much better the country could be with a drastic shift in so many areas.
Obama is no JFK, but I really believe that Obama can do so much more than McCain can possibly dream of in terms of inspiring people, business, etc. to help move away from our dependence on oil. So many times in history, the country and citizens have stood up, worked hard, and developed amazing new processes, inventions, ideas, etc. Coming out of the Great Depression, the War Effort, massive public works projects, going into space and to the moon, the list goes on. We need to be inspired in that way to do something great. Obama has his faults, but I really think he can be the person who will make this happen.
I find nothing, absolutely nothing inspiring about McCain. I have a consistent fear that he will win the election, and I hate that feeling.
