to be honest i don't mind you adapting the design.
but i really think you should have a look at the site as a whole and make it consitent - ie not just drop a different style on the product pages thats is totally different to the others.. it will still look mismatched.
what about your whole Phi thing? how does that integrate with the design? i'd have a good think about it - and also think of something cool to do with the product shots
ie look at the way Threadless do it, and the way that American Apparel do it, etc ( ie is it just a model? just the tshirt? the models acting out whats on the tshirt? the tshirt folded in the golden ratio - whatever - but theres an opportunity to be had with it)
