I'm trying to work out which 50mm to get.
Canon 50mm f1.4 (micro usm, average build, AUD $450)
Canon 50mm f1.2 L (ring type usm, brilliant build, AUD $1600)
Sigma 50mm f1.4 (ring type usm, great build, AUD $600)Appparently the sigma is a bit of a beast compared to the canon 1.4, faster AF, stonger build and better IQ wide open.
Sigma on left Canon on right.
The 1.2 is still the best but costs 2.5x more than the sigma. Money that would buy me a 85mm f1.8 and 580exII with the savings.
A friend has damaged the auto focus in his canon 50mm f1.4 twice after dropping them into his bag.
Might be worth giving the sigma a go, anyone have one?
