The Panasonic Lumix LX-2 and the G9 were other cameras i was considering.
The Lumix does have a good lens, but my conclusion from 'pixelpeeping' on flickr I decided that the GX100 was better.
I ruled out the G9 because of its size.
I wanted a digital camera to replace my Lomo LC-A and the GX100 is pretty much the same size - big enough to sit decently in your hand and small enough to fit into jeans/jacket pocket without showing a "ive got a camera in my pocket" bulge
