I can't answer that question. Last ones which really blew me away were Stone Junction by Jim Dodge and The Road by Cormack McCarthy, but at a push I'd say Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins

My mum recommended it to me originally and she's usually pretty good.detritus - I thought it was amazing, some of the best written word I have ever seen. made me quite emotional. not proper sci fi though, eh, you geektron ;)kelpie
