I hate that remakes are forced to comply with today's concepts of political correctness and often lose their nostalgic appeal because of it. Bad News Bears, the original, is filled with shameless (and realistic) racism and social class issues that make us squirm today. The remake seemed to tip-toe around these subjects and/or make them seem like a sitcom. The end result are movies that simply fail in their attempt at recapturing the essence of a movie because they've removed them from their contexts of time and social views.
